The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives is set to transform its all-day dining venue, Kula, into a global gastronomic journey with an innovative weekly theme night concept launching Sunday, August 3rd. The resort’s signature restaurant will now offer guests a dynamic culinary experience that traverses continents through carefully curated menus and immersive dining environments.

By day, Kula maintains its reputation as a buffet-style destination featuring stunning ocean views and lush jungle-inspired decor. As evening falls, the restaurant metamorphoses into a vibrant culinary theater, with chefs crafting themed menus that celebrate international cuisines through live cooking stations and interactive dining experiences.

The meticulously designed weekly lineup promises a global expedition of flavors, with each evening offering a distinct gastronomic narrative:

Monday launches with a Peru-Mex Fiesta, blending Mexican, Peruvian, and Caribbean culinary traditions. Tuesday transports diners through Asia’s diverse street food landscape, featuring spice-rich offerings from India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Indonesia. Wednesday introduces a surf and turf extravaganza, showcasing barbecued burger patties, kebabs, and freshly caught seafood.

Thursday embraces pan-Asian cuisine with extensive wok-prepared dishes, complemented by fresh sushi and sashimi. Friday celebrates local flavors with Maldivian Night, where the culinary team serves traditional island-inspired salads, curries, and seafood while dressed in traditional attire. Saturday brings the warmth of Italy through authentic pasta, pizza, and risotto, while Sunday concludes the week with Fisherman’s Catch—featuring ocean-fresh seafood prepared through various techniques including barbecuing, poaching, and ceviche.

Executive Chef Nanda explained the concept’s inspiration: “These theme nights are more than just a buffet—they’re a culinary world tour designed to spark curiosity and conversation. Each evening brings a unique energy, inviting guests to explore global flavors through authentic ingredients, live cooking stations, and passionate preparation.”
