This August, the Maldives transforms into an unexpected wine destination as RAAYA by Atmosphere and VARU by Atmosphere invite travelers to experience the extraordinary legacy of South African winemaking through an immersive Glenelly Estate wine showcase.
Spanning two exclusive resort locations, the event will feature wine experiences led by Dirk van Zyl, Glenelly Estate’s renowned Cellar Master, from August 10-12 at RAAYA and August 14-16 at VARU. Complimentary for in-house guests, these experiences promise to unveil the remarkable story of Glenelly’s legendary founder, Madame May de Lencquesaing.
The event celebrates an extraordinary narrative of reinvention, embodied by Lady May, who boldly established her winery at 80 years old. Transforming a historic fruit farm on Simonsberg’s slopes into a world-class vineyard, she created a winemaking legacy that seamlessly blends French tradition with South African terroir.
