Dhiraagu Renews Partnership with Maldivian Red Crescent to Support Humanitarian Services

Telecommunications leader Dhiraagu has recommitted to its partnership with the Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC), extending the Partners for Humanity Initiative through 2025-26. This renewed collaboration reinforces the company’s dedication to supporting critical humanitarian services across the Maldives.

The partnership will enable the MRC to continue providing vital services including first aid, psychological and social support, and comprehensive disaster response and recovery activities. By leveraging Dhiraagu’s support, the MRC aims to expand its nationwide reach and deliver timely assistance to vulnerable communities during both emergencies and everyday challenges.

Bishaara Hameed, Dhiraagu’s Senior Manager for Corporate Social Responsibility, expressed the company’s commitment to the initiative. “We are deeply honored to support the Maldivian Red Crescent in its mission of serving local communities,” Hameed stated. “We recognize and value the extraordinary dedication and compassion that their team and volunteers bring to those in need. Through this partnership, we believe we can strengthen community resilience, inspire hope, and create meaningful, lasting positive change.”

This renewal builds on Dhiraagu’s longstanding support of MRC initiatives, demonstrating the organization’s ongoing commitment to community welfare. Both Dhiraagu and the Maldivian Red Crescent emphasized that their strengthened collaboration will ensure humanitarian services reach the most vulnerable populations effectively.

The partnership represents a strategic approach to addressing social challenges, combining Dhiraagu’s corporate resources with the MRC’s extensive humanitarian expertise. By working together, the two organizations aim to create a more robust support system for Maldivian communities, particularly in times of crisis and need.

Through this continued collaboration, Dhiraagu reinforces its role as a socially responsible corporate citizen, going beyond traditional business objectives to make a tangible difference in the lives of Maldivians. The Partners for Humanity Initiative stands as a testament to the potential of strategic partnerships in addressing critical social and humanitarian needs.
