Luxury jeweler BVLGARI is revolutionizing professional education in the jewelry industry with the launch of Scuola BVLGARI, a comprehensive training program designed to cultivate the next generation of master craftspeople in goldsmithing and gemstone setting. The innovative initiative aims to safeguard and evolve the prestigious tradition of Made in Italy craftsmanship while providing accessible professional development opportunities.
The school’s inaugural programs, set to begin in September 2025, offer unprecedented access to high-level technical training for aspiring jewelry artisans. With no prior experience required beyond a secondary school diploma, the courses welcome passionate individuals demonstrating manual aptitude and genuine interest in the jewelry craft.
Two flagship programs will anchor the school’s curriculum: a comprehensive Goldsmithing course and an intensive Stone Setting program. The Goldsmithing course, running until April 2027, represents a substantial 1,680-hour immersion into metalworking techniques. Students will master critical skills including precision bending, milling, soldering, laser cutting, fretwork, and advanced processes like wax modeling and lost-wax casting.
The Stone Setting course, concluding in June 2026, provides 600 hours of specialized training focused on the intricate art of gemstone mounting. Participants will learn sophisticated setting techniques such as pavé, bezel, burnish, channel, prong, and claw settings. The curriculum also integrates crucial gemological principles, ensuring students develop a holistic understanding of stone characteristics and handling.
This educational initiative builds upon BVLGARI’s commitment to professional development, which began with the establishment of the BVLGARI Jewelry Academy in 2017. The internal program was initially designed to support new hires and transmit the Maison’s specialized techniques, demonstrating the brand’s long-standing dedication to craft preservation.
Beyond technical training, Scuola BVLGARI embodies a broader mission of social inclusion. Through its Refugee Program, the brand integrates asylum seekers and refugees via tailored training, cultural mediation, and mentorship. This progressive approach recently earned BVLGARI the prestigious “Welcome. Working for Refugee Integration” label from UNHCR in June.
The school’s location in Valenza, Italy—a site where over 32 nationalities collaborate—symbolizes the brand’s global yet deeply rooted approach to craftsmanship. By creating this educational platform, BVLGARI is not just training artisans but actively contributing to the cultural and economic preservation of Italy’s renowned jewelry-making heritage.
