Sun Siyam Resorts Unveils Reimagined Brand Experience, Celebrating 35 Years in the Maldives

Sun Siyam, a leading Maldivian hospitality group, celebrates its 35th anniversary with a significant brand transformation, introducing a new identity, “The Home of the Maldivian Spirit,” and enhancing guest experiences across its six resorts. This evolution includes a refined brand architecture, the launch of unique Signature Experiences, and the introduction of a new loyalty program, Siyam Rewards, all designed to deepen cultural immersion and elevate the guest journey.

The group’s five Maldivian resorts and its Sri Lankan property are now unified under the “House of Siyam” banner, categorized into three distinct collections to enhance clarity for guests and partners. The Luxury Collection, spearheaded by Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, offers the pinnacle of island indulgence and exclusivity. The Lifestyle Collection, encompassing Sun Siyam Olhuveli and Siyam World, caters to adventurous travelers seeking diverse experiences. Finally, the Privé Collection prioritizes privacy and bespoke comfort, featuring Sun Siyam Iru Veli, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, and Sun Siyam Pasikudah in Sri Lanka.

A key element of the transformation is the introduction of Signature Experiences, designed to seamlessly integrate Maldivian culture and heritage into the guest experience. These offerings extend beyond traditional villa stays, providing opportunities for immersive cultural engagement. Guests can participate in “Maldivian Roots,” a weekly culinary and cultural series; capture unforgettable moments at the Maldives’ first overwater photo studio, the Insta Villa; relax at the Sun Siyam Beach Club; enjoy the “Wow Welcome” experience; uncover surprises with “Hidden Treasure Chests”; savor the “Plant Based Bliss” dining options; and enjoy movie nights under the stars at the Moonlit Cinemas. Further enhancing guest loyalty and engagement, Sun Siyam has launched Siyam Rewards, a digital membership program offering personalized itineraries, room upgrades, and the option to offset carbon emissions. Members earn rewards from their first booking, and each stay contributes to marine conservation and community projects through Sun Siyam Care, the group’s sustainability initiative. The comprehensive rebranding process involved collaboration with leading industry experts. JHAGGER&CO served as brand advisors, while StudioSixty7, led by Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero, oversaw the interior restyling. Dominik Ruhl, a pioneer in Maldivian hospitality, contributed expertise in operational standards and experience design. Sun Siyam’s internal teams, including General Managers, Resort Managers, and brand, sales, marketing, and public relations teams, coordinated by Abdulla Thamheed, VP of Operations, played a crucial role in the implementation, ensuring a seamless transition and consistent brand application across all properties.
