The 16th annual Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) is set to make history in 2025, offering athletes a world-class running experience while championing a critical social cause. Registration is now open for the prestigious event, scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2025, at Central Park, Hulhumalé.
Runners can choose from four competitive categories: Half Marathon, 10K, 5K Open, and 5K Corporate Team, with an impressive total prize pool of MVR 280,000 awaiting top performers. This year’s race introduces a newly certified route that promises to elevate the running experience for both local and international participants.
As the only internationally recognized road race in the Maldives, DMRR continues to set benchmarks in competitive running. Certified by World Athletics, the event has grown to become the country’s largest annual running competition, drawing athletes from diverse backgrounds and communities.
Beyond athletic achievement, the 2025 DMRR distinguishes itself through a powerful social mission focused on child protection. Dhiraagu has committed to donating MVR 200,000 to the top five NGOs selected by participants during registration. Moreover, an additional MVR 100 will be contributed for each registration, with proceeds from special bib number sales directly supporting child-focused initiatives.
The race maintains strict participation limits, with registrations closing once 4,000 runners have signed up. Prospective participants are encouraged to secure their spots early to guarantee participation in this landmark event.
Interested runners can complete their registration through the official DMRR website. Whether you’re a professional athlete or a passionate amateur, the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race offers an unparalleled opportunity to challenge yourself while contributing to meaningful social change.
By combining athletic excellence with social responsibility, the 2025 DMRR represents more than just a race—it’s a celebration of community, performance, and collective impact in the Maldives.
