Scoot Expands Flight Frequencies and Capacity Across Network

Scoot, the low-cost carrier under the Singapore Airlines Group, is ramping up flight frequencies and aircraft upgrades to cater to growing travel demand. From June to October, the airline will significantly increase services to key destinations in the Philippines, Australia, Thailand, and Taiwan.

Highlights include doubling flights to Iloilo, expanding Perth and Sydney services, boosting Koh Samui frequencies, and upgrading Taipei and Seoul routes to daily. Scoot has also increased capacity on routes to Indonesia, with more Boeing 787 Dreamliner operations.

Qantas Launches New International Routes, Upgrades Brisbane-LA Flights

Qantas is strengthening its global network with the launch of two new routes from Perth to Auckland and Johannesburg, starting in December 2025. These thrice-weekly services will operate on Airbus A330 aircraft. The airline is also introducing the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on its popular Brisbane-Los Angeles route, offering daily flights.

During the peak travel season, Qantas and American Airlines will jointly maintain daily Dreamliner services between Brisbane and Los Angeles. Qantas will also increase Melbourne-Dallas flights to daily and reintroduce its Airbus A380 on the Sydney-Dallas route.

Vietnam Airlines Connects Bengaluru to Hanoi

Vietnam Airlines has launched direct flights between Bengaluru and Hanoi, making the south Indian city its third destination in the country after Delhi and Mumbai. The airline will operate four weekly services using Airbus A321 aircraft, catering to growing travel demand between India and Vietnam.

Philippine Airlines Partners with Alaska Airlines on Frequent Flyer Programme

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has teamed up with Alaska Airlines to expand travel options for members of their Mabuhay Miles and Mileage Plan frequent flyer programmes. Passengers will soon be able to earn and redeem miles across both airlines, improving connections for PAL travellers on the US West Coast.

The partnership also paves the way for potential codeshare flights, which would provide more destinations and seamless travel between the Philippines and the United States. PAL’s existing ties with Hawaiian Airlines will also be strengthened through this new alliance.
