Culinary enthusiasts are set for an extraordinary gastronomic journey as Jumeirah Olhahali Island announces an exclusive six-day pop-up featuring Atrangi, the acclaimed Indian restaurant by renowned chef Ritu Dalmia. From 7 to 12 June 2025, guests will experience a transformative dining adventure led by Head Chef Aniket Chatterjee, promising to redefine traditional Indian cuisine through innovative techniques and global influences.
Chef Ritu Dalmia, a self-taught culinary pioneer who revolutionized India’s restaurant landscape, brings her signature bold and eclectic approach to the Maldives. With a remarkable career spanning launching Delhi’s first standalone Italian restaurant at 22 to creating celebrated dining establishments across India and Europe, Dalmia has consistently pushed culinary boundaries.
Chef Aniket Chatterjee will showcase a meticulously crafted five-course menu that celebrates India’s rich culinary heritage while embracing contemporary global flavors. The dining experience will offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian tasting menus, designed to tantalize and surprise discerning palates.
The culinary journey promises an innovative progression of flavors, beginning with a playful chilli cheese toast reimagination and progressing through exotic dishes like pickled doodhi and smoked dahi. Highlights include Malvani chicken tikka with confit garlic and a vegetarian paneer peeli mirch tikka with spring onion curry. A creative whipped butter board serves as a palate cleanser before main courses like kappa meen curry and satu pulao with dalma, parwal, and burnt tomato chutney.
“Maldives has always been a special country for me,” says Chef Ritu Dalmia. “This pop-up allows us to showcase our local community-based dishes while experimenting with the exceptional produce the Maldives offers.”
The exclusive dining experience offers two distinctive options: a beach grill dinner at Shimmers Beach on 10 June, priced at USD 225 plus taxes per person, and a five-course set menu at an ocean view location on other evenings, priced at USD 195 plus taxes per person.
Guests can look forward to an intimate culinary narrative that bridges traditional Indian cooking with modern gastronomy, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Jumeirah Olhahali Island.
